19 Peter of les Vaux-de-Cernay, translated by W.A. & M.D. Sibly  The History of the Albigensian Crusade
Woodbridege, Suffolk, England  The Boydel Press  2000  0851158072 / 9780851158075 Soft Cover  Fine  8vo - over 7¾
338 pp. with maps, tables, an introduction, extensive notes and nine appendices. Book is almost like new. A meticulous translation of The Historia Albigensis, one of the most important sources for the history of the Cathar heresy, written between 1212 and 1218 by Peter, a young monk at the Cistercian abbey of les Vaux-de-Cernay where his uncle Guy was an abbot. Guy had taken part in the crusade, and had preached against it, and later became bishop of Carcassonne. Peter travelled with his uncle and so was an eyewitness to the crusade.

20 Picknett, Lynn and Prince, Clive  The Templar Revelation Secret Guardians of the True Identity of Christ
London  Bantam Press  1997  0593038703)  Cloth  Very Good  No Jacket  8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall
431 pp. with appendix, notes, references and index. This book begins with a chapter on Leonardo da Vinci, and includes chapters about sacred sexual rituals and Mary Magalene, so it seems to be a source for the novel 'Da Vinci Code'. Text block is very clean and tight, pages are just slightly yellowed. In this ambitious and controversial work we find much more on the legends of France concerning Mary Magdalene and her possible connection to Jesus and the Christian Church. The authors also delve into the mystery of Rennes le Chateau, the story which originally inspired Baigent, Lincoln and Leigh to do the investigation which led to their theory of a Jesus who was married and whose descendants founded the Merovingian dynasty. Since that time, other books have also questioned the standard story of Christian beginnings, and have even revived the idea that historical Jesus did not exist.
